Steve Madden, the company, was founded by Steve Madden, the man, in 1990 in Brooklyn, where he started out making trend-advancing shoes one pair at a time. It was not long after that the Steve Madden focus on "now-ness" earned rave reviews from young female fans mad for the funky, chic, and yet competitively priced footwear it produced. The company popularized the "dressy sneaker," and continues to man the forefront of trends.

Love these pumps. Perfectly on trend. A bit expensive -- I wish Amazon would work a deal with the mid-level brands. Also ordered a half size smaller than my true suze. I recommend this for all Steven by Steve Madden shoes. You will also want to break these in around the house for 4 total hours to get the most comfortable "out of the house" first wear. I paired these with some super flare 7FAM jeans, an ivory silk pullover, and a large pendant necklace. I felt the shoes pulled everything together to accomplish a very precise look. And, as always, Amazon rocks.
